An unforgettable journey through the stunning landscapes of New Zealand, over seven days of riding, traversing the North and South Islands, alongside fellow Royal Enfield enthusiasts and finished on the beautiful iconic Burt Munro Challenge in Invercargill.
Day 1 :
Day one of the Tour of NZ kicked off in Auckland, where we carved our way down the twisty SH22 to Royale Cars & Motorcycles in Hamilton. After a solid lunch stop, we hit the scenic backroads to the Okoroire Hotel, then tackled the winding Kaimai Range, finishing the day with classic fish and chips by the beach at the Mount.
Day 2 :
Riders kicked off from Mount Maunganui with a pit stop at Okere Falls Café. From Atiamuri to Whakamaru Dam, classic Kiwi pies and scenic rides set the tone. Hugging the eastern shore of Lake Taupo, the journey climbed to Whakapapa Ski Field before wrapping up for the night in Ohakune.
Day 3 :
Kicking off beneath Mount Ruapehu, riders stopped at Waiouru’s Army Museum for a “Made Like A Gun” moment. The route flowed through the Oroua Valley to Palmerston North, picking up fellow Enfielders before carving over the Pahiatua Track and Remutakas, finishing at Capital Motorcycles in Lower Hutt.
Day 4 :
A 2 AM ferry set the tone for an epic day, landing us in a misty Picton at dawn. Queen Charlotte Drive delivered early thrills, followed by a scenic cruise into Nelson for a coffee break and some well-earned rest. It was an early wrap, with the long ride to Christchurch via Lewis Pass up next.
Day 5 :
An unforgettable ride from Twizel took us through the stunning Lindis Pass to Wanaka Powersports. After lunch at the iconic Cardrona Hotel, we conquered the Crown Range and cruised into Clyde via Cromwell under blazing 30°C heat. The final stretch through Ranfurly and Middlemarch wrapped up with a scenic finish in Dunedin.
Day 6 :
From sunny Christchurch to drizzly Mt Hutt, Day 6 delivered shifting skies and classic South Island beauty. After a quick stop in Methven, we rode to Timaru and grabbed a famous Fairlie pie en route to Burkes Pass. The Mackenzie Basin welcomed us with sunshine and stunning views of Lake Tekapo before we wrapped up the day in Twizel at sunset.
Day 7 :
An unforgettable ride from Twizel took us through the stunning Lindis Pass to Wanaka Powersports. Day 8 :
The last leg began in misty Dunedin, winding through the quiet, twisty roads of the Catlins coastal route. After a scenic stop at Curio Bay and lunch in Fortrose, we made the final push to Stirling Point, Bluff—the end of SH1. One last ride brought us into Invercargill, just in time for the 2025 Burt Munro Challenge. What a journey it has been!
